Bongiovi Chiropractic - Routine Visit

What To Expect On A Routine Chiropractic Visit

In order to serve you most effectively we ask that you:

  • Please sign in and pick up your patient chart at the front desk upon your arrival.

  • Save time by making payment prior to seeing the doctor.

  • Bring your chart with you into the adjusting room and place it on the chart rack.

  • Prepare to be examined and adjusted.  This includes removal of earrings, necklaces and tying hair off the neck.  Short sleeve shirts are recommended when thermal readings are to be taken.

  • Lay on the adjusting table and relax by concentrating on deep slow breathing.

CHIROPRACTIC ANALYSIS

On each visit nerve/temperature readings will be taken, posture may be analyzed and leg length will be compared as well as other occasional tests.  The results of these tests will determine whether or not you will receive an adjustment on that visit.  Adjustments are given only when indicated.  They are performed in seconds but their effects on your health can be profound.

ADJUSTMENTS

A typical chiropractic adjustment

Chiropractic adjustments are specific maneuvers done with the hands or an adjusting instrument used to correct or reduce vertebral subluxations.  It is vital that you relax as much as possible while you are being adjusted.  This will maximize the effectiveness and minimize any discomfort.  Breathing slowly and deeply and concentrating on those breaths help you to relax.

Let the doctor know if you are having any problems with particular adjustments.  There's always alternatives.

TOTAL TIME REQUIRED

The average length of time spent on each visit is brief. Most people are misinformed that the more time they are worked on and the more adjustments they receive the better. However, the truth is the less we do, the better for you! It only takes a fraction of a second to adjust a subluxation. The analysis before and after adjustments takes only a few minutes. Nothing else needs to be done. Doing anything else would be a waste of your valuable time as well as damaging to your spine and nerve system. Just as you wouldn't want your auto mechanic to adjust your carburetor if it was already properly working, you shouldn't want a spinal adjustment if it is not needed.

We follow the teachings of this great master of chiropractic to attain the best results possible. You can plan on your average visit to last approximately 3-5 minutes with focused, specific adjustments only. In order to efficiently serve as many people as possible with quality chiropractic care and keep our fees as low as possible, we ask each patient to limit conversation with the doctor to care-related matters. Since we have many patients eager to receive chiropractic care, we hope you will be patient on those rare occasions when you have to wait to see the doctor. We will do our best to accomodate you on those occasions when you are rushed.
